Job Description
Senior Coordinator supporting American Cancer Society fundraising operations and events. Managing portfolios, donor data, workflows, financial administration, and stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive fundraising and operational support to multi-million-dollar individual, corporate, and event portfolios and associated teams
- Deliver temporary remote coverage and/or assigned portfolio support during staff vacancies and peak workload periods
- Provide fundraising and event execution support in partnership with event managers and development leadership
- Support planning, timelines, logistics, and high-impact opportunities
- Manage relationships with participants, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and vendors
- Manage operational systems and workflow execution, including task and reminder systems, deadlines, and deliverables
- Identify issues, recommend solutions, and drive follow-through to support revenue growth and operational excellence
- Process donations and payments, track expenses, support reclasses, and ensure compliance with internal policies and controls
- Maintain constituent and customer relationship data in relevant platforms
- Generate reports and insights supporting revenue performance, prospecting, engagement, and team decisions
- Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned tools, platforms, and fundraising programs
- Troubleshoot, provide guidance, develop or correct materials, and contribute to training, workgroups, or projects
- Support committees, boards, volunteer recruitment and communications, scheduling, recognition, and stewardship
- Potentially support executive volunteer engagement and other leadership-facing needs
- Potentially mentor and onboard new coordinators
Requirements:
- Associate degree preferred or a combination of education and relevant work experience
- Typically 3+ years of event support, fundraising operations, or comparable business/administrative support experience
- 5+ years and/or demonstrated advanced/lead experience may be preferred for lead-level scope and mentoring responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to partner and collaborate across teams
- Ability to identify needs/issues, define problems, assess options, and implement practical solutions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing portfolios, teams, priorities, and systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures with attention to accuracy and compliance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams
- Ability to learn and use internal platforms and data systems, including Salesforce/CRM, reporting tools, procurement/contract tools, and auction/event tools
- Limited travel to area meetings and events, including some evening and weekend work
