Job Description
Principal Intelligence Analyst leading intelligence assessments for MHRA, which regulates medicines and medical devices. Supporting criminal enforcement and public-health protection across the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Support activities that prevent, disrupt and reduce medicines and medical devices-related offending
- Lead a team of analysts delivering strategic and tactical intelligence assessments using appropriate analytical methodologies and techniques
- Manage intelligence analysis and assessment to identify threats, risks and opportunities
- Inform strategic and operational priorities and decision-making
- Deliver work to a high professional standard and contribute to continuous improvement
- Work with colleagues across the Criminal Enforcement Unit and wider MHRA to achieve shared objectives
- Contribute to projects and initiatives improving operational effectiveness and organisational performance
- Adapt to changing priorities and support different areas of work as required
- Oversee production and quality assurance of intelligence assessments
Requirements:
- Recent experience gained within a law enforcement or criminal intelligence setting
- Ability to lead a team within a dynamic operational environment
- Experience managing the assessment and analysis of intelligence to inform and drive operational and strategic activity
- Experience assessing information, managing risk and making evidence-based decisions to support operational and strategic objectives
- Experience leading or coordinating operational activity, projects or initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes and continuous improvement
- Recognised recent formal training in intelligence assessment and analysis (GIAT or equivalent), or demonstrable competence to Highly Proficient level against the PHIA Professional Development Framework
- Ability to oversee the production and quality assurance of intelligence assessments, including Strategic Threat Assessments, Control Strategies and Strategic Intelligence Requirements
- Ability to gather, evaluate and interpret information from multiple sources to support operational decision-making and provide clear recommendations
- Candidates must meet UK immigration requirements and Civil Service nationality rules
- Successful candidates must pass disclosure and barring security checks, animal rights and pro-life activism checks, and basic personnel security standard checks where applicable
- Successful candidates are subject to an Internal Fraud Database check
- Certain roles may require vaccinations and routine health surveillance
