Job Description
Senior Data Engineer leading Azure data architecture, pipelines, and warehouse implementations. Mentoring technical teams and delivering cloud data solutions for clients in the Philippines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead small to medium-sized technical teams
- Allocate and distribute work to team members
- Provide technical escalation and support
- Represent the team in Agile ceremonies and client meetings
- Design and implement logical and physical data models for cloud and hybrid data warehouse environments
- Implement data architectures for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Deliver full life-cycle data warehouse implementations
- Design data architectures supporting data integration processing
- Perform data profiling and create source-to-target mappings
- Provision and configure Azure data service resources
- Build data pipelines from requirements
- Make technical decisions and mentor more junior team members
- Develop relationships with project, client, and company leadership while remaining hands-on
- Work on Azure-focused client projects and adopt new technologies
Requirements:
- Experience leading small to medium sized technical teams, including work allocation/distribution, technical escalation and support, and representing the team in Agile ceremonies and client meetings
- Expertise designing and implementing logical and physical data models for cloud and hybrid data warehouse environments
- Experience implementing data architectures supporting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Experience with multiple full life-cycle data warehouse implementations
- Understanding of data architectures supporting data integration processing
- Experience with data modeling technologies such as ER/Studio, ER/Win, or similar
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Platform services, including Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Storage, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Logic Apps, and APIs
- Ability to quickly learn, adopt, and apply new technologies
- Experience with data profiling and creation of source-to-target mappings
- Ability to provision and configure Azure data service resources
- At least 5–8 years of relevant experience
- Python and SQL scripting
- SQL and PySpark
- General cloud architecture competency, including building data pipelines from requirements
- API knowledge required; API creation preferred
- Microsoft Fabric preferred
- Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, Data Flows, ExpressRoute, and Azure Active Directory preferred
- Experience creating strategies to migrate customers from on-premises environments to Azure preferred
- Power BI and semantic modeling preferred
- AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory preferred
- AWS S3 and Azure Blob preferred
- AWS Athena and Azure Databricks preferred
- AWS Redshift and Azure Synapse preferred
- AWS ECS and Azure AKS preferred
