Job Description
Senior Data Engineer building BigQuery and Dataform pipelines for Avenga, an AI-focused international engineering firm. Migrating ETL workflows and modernizing analytics across cloud and on-premises systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable data solutions using Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on BigQuery and Dataform
- Develop, optimize, and maintain data models, SQL code, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data transformation processes
- Support migration of ETL workflows from Informatica to BigQuery/Dataform
- Automate migration, testing, and regression testing activities using Python and SQL
- Implement and maintain orchestration, CI/CD processes, monitoring solutions, user access management, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
- Support integrations between GCP and on-premises systems
- Contribute to modernization of reporting and analytics solutions
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery and Dataform
- Knowledge of data modeling, data pipelines, and SQL development
- Knowledge of orchestration, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Knowledge of user access and permissions management
- Knowledge of integration between cloud-based and on-premises applications
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Strong expertise in Python and SQL, including implementation, optimization, and automation of migration processes, testing, and regression testing
- Experience with Informatica and migration of ETL processes to BigQuery/Dataform is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with QLIK and equivalent solutions in the GCP ecosystem is a plus
- Good command of German and English, both written and spoken
