Job Description

Senior Design Engineer building Vue components and accessible product experiences. Evolving Turquoise Health’s design system for healthcare price-transparency applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, document, and maintain reusable pv-components within the Pit Viper internal design system
  • Create component APIs, composition patterns, variants, interaction states, and extension points
  • Ensure components work in Vue applications and as native Web Components in HTML and server-rendered product surfaces
  • Partner with product designers and engineers from early exploration through production implementation
  • Refine layouts, interactions, responsive behavior, typography, spacing, focus management, transitions, and feedback states in application code
  • Implement last-mile details including loading, empty, error, success, disabled, hover, and keyboard-navigation states
  • Review product surfaces for visual, behavioral, and accessibility inconsistencies and fix them at the appropriate level
  • Improve documentation, testing, release processes, and contribution practices for Pit Viper
  • Bridge design intent and shipped product experiences for Turquoise Health’s healthcare price-transparency platform

Requirements:

  • 5+ years building production web interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript
  • 1+ years of direct, hands-on experience building or maintaining a design system, component library, or shared UI framework
  • Strong visual and interaction-design judgment
  • Production-level experience with Vue or a comparable component framework (React/Svelte/Angular)
  • Demonstrable experience implementing accessibility standards (WCAG) in shipped components
  • A portfolio, GitHub, or work sample showing before/after component or interaction work
  • Current authorization to work in the United States
  • Turquoise does not sponsor employment visas or assume sponsorship of existing visas
  • Bonus: Experience authoring and publishing native Web Components
  • Bonus: Experience across a mixed-framework stack with server-rendered templates
  • Bonus: Experience contributing to a component library used by 10+ engineers/teams
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Storybook, Figma-to-code tooling, or similar design-system tooling
  • Bonus: Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another data-dense enterprise product domain
