Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer scaling AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD infrastructure for GenLogs’ truck-intelligence network. Supporting real-time freight data from distributed sensors across the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, and Route 53
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automate software delivery
- Monitor and optimize AWS resources for performance, cost, and security
- Implement cloud networking, including VPC configuration, subnets, and security groups
- Manage AWS database, container orchestration, storage, and DNS services
- Set up VPN networks and manage remote IoT devices
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in real time
- Stay current with AWS best practices and emerging cloud technologies
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience, preferably with high-transactional and distributed systems
- Proven experience managing AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, and Route 53
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and orchestration
- Solid understanding of AWS networking principles, including DNS, VPCs, subnets, and security groups
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline
- Strong proficiency in Linux system administration
- Experience with Docker and containerization technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Bash and Python scripting
- Fluency writing SQL queries, including joins, aggregations, and filtering across complex relational and non-relational datasets
- Effectiveness communicating and working in a remote and distributed team
- AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, preferred
- Experience with additional IaC tools such as Ansible or CloudFormation, preferred
- Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus, preferred
- Experience managing remote IoT devices, preferred
