Job Description
Senior strategy leader shaping Ensono’s corporate strategy, initiative portfolio and executive operating rhythm. Supporting corporate development, transformation and board-level decision-making for a managed technology services provider.
Responsibilities:
- Shape company strategy through original ideas, strategy memos and initiative proposals
- Participate in executive leaders’ staff meetings and connect cross-functional risks and opportunities
- Anticipate CEO and President needs and prepare content for the executive leadership team and board
- Own the annual strategy process from theme intake and charters through strategy memos, decision gates and executive strategy sessions
- Establish and govern strategic initiatives with charters, sponsors, accountable leads, plans and success measures
- Surface risks, dependencies and decisions, escalating with clear recommendations
- Coach initiative leads on problem structuring, root-cause analysis and decision-ready writing
- Personally lead one or two high-priority initiatives or special projects annually
- Coordinate and run the monthly business review with the CEO, President and company leaders
- Run Strategy-owned forums, including the weekly AI program standup, initiative readouts and critical-issue tracking
- Prepare and pressure-test materials for the ELT, board, board committees and private equity sponsor
- Track decisions and actions to closure and produce concise meeting summaries
- Identify and evaluate acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships; support sourcing, diligence and integration
- Manage external advisers and specialists from statement of work through final readouts
- Lead market and competitive intelligence, including competitor results, market studies and AI market impact
- Co-lead the Executive Advisory Council and connect client insight to strategy and initiative priorities
- Shape operating-model changes and own assigned transformation programs
- Build an AI-enabled strategy office with dashboards, agents and automated summaries
- Represent the Strategy team across executive and senior leadership teams and deputize for the SVP and CSO as needed
Requirements:
- 10 or more years in corporate strategy, strategy operations, consulting, corporate development or a chief-of-staff role, including 3 or more working directly with C-suite executives
- Track record of running an enterprise planning or strategic initiative process across multiple functions, including portfolio governance, decision gates and executive readouts
- Evidence of original strategic thinking that changed a company’s direction, offerings or operating model
- Strong structured problem solving and financial fluency: business cases, P&L and EBITDA impact, contract economics and investment theses
- Executive-grade communication, from a six-page narrative memo to a one-slide board summary
- Ability to lead without authority and hold senior leaders accountable
- Presence to participate in senior leaders’ staff meetings as listener and contributor, with discretion about what to share
- Rigorous program management habits, including charters, plans, risk logs and status reporting
- Hands-on fluency with AI productivity tools, data and dashboards
- Absolute discretion with confidential information, including transactions, board matters and personnel
- A bachelor’s degree
- 10% travel requirement, primarily for executive strategy sessions, advisory council meetings, client engagements and acquisition diligence
- Preferred: MBA or equivalent graduate degree
- Preferred: Experience in IT or managed services, mainframe or hybrid cloud, or enterprise B2B technology
- Preferred: Hands-on M&A, joint venture or partnership experience, including diligence and integration
- Preferred: Experience in a private equity-backed company, including board and investor reporting
- Preferred: Experience running a customer advisory board or executive client program
