Job Description
Senior ERP Engineer managing Deltek Vantagepoint and Trimble Spectrum for an engineering and mechanical services organization. Owning administration, reporting, integrations, upgrades, security, and audit support.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary administrator for Deltek Vantagepoint and Trimble Spectrum ERP platforms
- Configure and maintain Project Management, Accounting, Procurement, Timekeeping, and HR/Payroll modules
- Design, implement, and maintain ERP integrations with payroll processors, CRM, document management systems, and other enterprise tools
- Manage system security settings, roles, and data access controls
- Develop and optimize custom reports and dashboards using Crystal Reports, Power BI, and SQL
- Write and optimize SQL queries for ERP data extraction, analysis, and validation
- Translate business requirements into actionable reports with Finance, Project Management, and Operations teams
- Create ad hoc reports for executives, auditors, and project managers
- Maintain a standardized reporting library and data integrity
- Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, roles, and permissions
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshoot ERP issues
- Coordinate escalated issues with Deltek, Trimble, and third-party vendors
- Plan, test, and execute upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and service packs
- Maintain development, test, and staging environments
- Develop upgrade runbooks, test plans, rollback procedures, and change-management documentation
- Monitor product roadmaps and recommend system improvements
- Support internal and external financial, operational, and compliance audits
- Prepare, extract, and validate auditor-requested data and reports
- Ensure ERP configurations, access controls, and workflows meet regulatory and organizational requirements
- Collaborate with Product, Finance, HR, Engineering, Project Controls, and Executive Leadership
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and configuring ERP systems in a professional services, engineering, or construction environment
- Experience with any major ERP platform (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint, Trimble Spectrum, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Crystal Reports, Power BI, and SQL
- Demonstrated experience with ERP upgrades, patches, and system lifecycle management
- Experience managing user access controls, roles, and security configurations within enterprise platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within aggressive project timelines
- Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant discipline
- Preferred: Direct experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and/or Trimble Spectrum administration and configuration
- Preferred: Certification(s) in Deltek, Trimble, or other ERP products
- Preferred: Experience in engineering, mechanical, or construction services
- Preferred: Familiarity with SQL Server and Windows Server environments
- Preferred: Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM change management frameworks
- Preferred: Prior systems-perspective support for financial or compliance audits
- Preferred: Experience with API integrations, ETL processes, or middleware platforms
