Job Description

Financial Crimes QA Sr. Analyst strengthening BSA/AML, Sanctions, and Fraud oversight. Improving quality reviews and governance at Pathward, a financial empowerment company.

Responsibilities:

  • Support execution, consistency, and continuous improvement of the 2LoD Financial Crimes quality assurance program across BSA/AML, Sanctions, and Fraud
  • Perform quality checks of analyst work for consistency and adherence to QA standards and procedures
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and on-the-job training to QA Analysts
  • Support calibration activities and consistency in QA review outcomes
  • Review deficiencies, observations, and issues for appropriateness, completeness, and severity
  • Validate issue remediation and review closure evidence
  • Support QA reporting, metrics, and management updates
  • Perform complex and high-risk QA reviews of 2LoD Financial Crimes processes
  • Evaluate accuracy, completeness, risk-based judgments, internal standards, and regulatory alignment
  • Evaluate the quality of 2LoD oversight, including issue identification, escalation, and resolution
  • Identify and escalate recurring issues, trends, potential control weaknesses, and root causes
  • Assist with QA methodologies, test scripts, defect taxonomies, and scoring frameworks
  • Differentiate 1LoD execution errors from 2LoD oversight deficiencies
  • Identify opportunities to standardize oversight practices, improve documentation and governance, and use data analytics to detect anomalies or inconsistencies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field
  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience in Financial Crimes (AML, Sanctions, Fraud)
  • Direct experience in 2LoD Compliance / Financial Crimes oversight or Quality Assurance / Testing of Financial Crimes functions
  • Strong knowledge of BSA/AML and sanctions regulatory expectations
  • Strong knowledge of 2LoD roles and responsibilities within a three lines of defense model
  • Strong knowledge of financial crime risk management frameworks and governance practices
  • Experience reviewing complex financial crime cases and providing oversight or challenge
  • Experience providing oversight and review of others' work products
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills
  • CAMS, CFE, CRCM, or equivalent AML certification preferred
  • Experience with Transaction Monitoring, Suspicious Activity Investigations, CDD/EDD, or Sanctions compliance preferred
  • Experience leveraging data analytics or reporting tools in QA preferred
  • Strong sense of independence and professional skepticism
  • Ability to assess quality of judgment and oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and challenge peers within Compliance
  • Attention to detail with a focus on consistency and governance
  • Ability to provide effective review, feedback, and guidance
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
