Job Description
Senior IT Quality Engineer driving automated and manual testing for Prime Therapeutics, a pharmacy benefit manager. Building test frameworks and ensuring reliable, compliant Medi-Cal software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Drive quality engineering initiatives across complex software solutions in a multi-platform environment
- Plan, design, and develop manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test data
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, performance, stress, and platform testing
- Lead and implement comprehensive test strategies, including non-functional testing
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced automation frameworks and tools
- Manage work direction and provide leadership, influence, feedback, and mentorship to team members
- Analyze and resolve complex quality issues using advanced debugging techniques
- Define and track quality metrics and present insights to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and quality standards
- Implement quality tools, services, and best practices through collaboration across IT
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attest to and comply with job-specific security responsibilities and controls
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
- High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED required
- 5 years of work experience in software testing and/or engineering
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship
- Proven ability to lead, influence, provide technical guidance, work direction, feedback, and mentorship to Quality Engineering teams
- Experience developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies for complex, enterprise-level solutions, including non-functional testing
- Expertise designing, developing, and optimizing advanced test automation frameworks
- Knowledge of healthcare or PBM industry and relevant regulatory, security, and quality standards, including HIPAA
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including advanced debugging techniques
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Proficiency with database testing and validation using SQL and large-scale databases such as Oracle
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: experience leading testing in multi-platform environments
- Preferred: experience defining, collecting, and tracking quality metrics
- Preferred: experience with test automation and/or performance testing
- Preferred: experience leading test efforts across web, mobile, API, and microservices
- Preferred: experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling
- Preferred: experience evaluating and implementing testing tools and quality best practices
- Preferred: professional certification(s) in quality engineering or automation testing
