Job Description

Senior manager leading donor data, analytics, automation, and fundraising operations. Supporting Step Up For Students’ scholarships through secure systems and campaign insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the donor data team, data reporting, and processes to provide timely customer service to donors and internal team members
  • Liaise between fundraising leadership and internal teams to align campaign goals and partner and donor engagement processes
  • Oversee donor database design, development, support, maintenance, security backup, and data integrity
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards for ethical and confidential donor relations
  • Develop and manage the donor data and operations budget
  • Oversee ETL processes and continuously improve their efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide data automation, database queries, reporting tools, and predictive modeling using Python, SQL, and CI/CD principles
  • Coordinate with IT on technical, hardware, software, website, and server administration
  • Participate in campaign preparation, development, and performance tracking
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to support partner campaigns
  • Collaborate across teams on vendor RFPs and feature negotiations
  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance in data-related fundraising activities
  • Research and apply updates and train the team on new features and efficient processes
  • Assist in donor cultivation and stewardship events
  • Foster a shared vision reflecting organizational core values

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success managing a complex relational database and supervising a data team
  • 5–7 years of experience in relational data management, including advanced SQL, fundraising, and donor relations
  • Expertise in Python for data, scripting, and automation
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
  • API integration experience
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices applied to ETL processes
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
  • Ability to manipulate, transform, or merge datasets using Excel or Python
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Blackbaud's RENXT, Omatic, CharityEngine, Bloomerang, HubSpot, Constant Contact, or Mailchimp
  • Understanding of website processes and PCI compliance criteria
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters to diverse audiences
  • Team leadership and project management skills
  • Financial literacy and ability to analyze campaign metrics
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as needed
  • Military service can substitute for professional experience and/or formal education requirements
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance may be required, depending on role responsibilities
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds
