Job Description

Senior Managing Consultant leading clinical quality improvement initiatives in healthcare. Partnering with hospitals to drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes and operational performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead delivery of complex, multi-workstream clinical quality and performance transformation engagements, partnering directly with hospital executive leadership to ensure alignment across clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders.
  • Own end-to-end workplan execution, coordinating cross-functional teams and driving accountability to achieve measurable clinical quality, operational, and financial outcomes.
  • Bring deep expertise in acute care hospital operations and transformation, with a strong ability to leverage EMR and performance data to inform decision-making and drive sustainable workflow change.
  • Translate strategic objectives into practical, implementable solutions that can be operationalized by physicians, nursing leaders, and frontline teams.
  • Build and maintain trusted, collaborative relationships with physicians and clinical leaders to drive adoption of evidence-based practices and consistent standards of care.
  • Lead implementation efforts across areas such as quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, sepsis, surgical quality, complications, mortality, readmissions, and performance scorecards.
  • Guide hospitals in optimizing performance on national quality and public reporting programs, including CMS Care Compare and other regulatory and benchmarking frameworks.
  • Support regulatory readiness and ongoing compliance related to CMS, state health departments, and other oversight bodies.
  • Translate complex clinical, operational, and performance data into clear, actionable insights for C-suite leaders and governing bodies.
  • Monitor progress against defined metrics and scorecards, ensuring initiatives deliver sustained outcomes beyond initial implementation.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing project teams, fostering strong collaboration, accountability, and results orientation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior hospital and health system leaders, particularly in complex or resource-constrained environments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in acute care or healthcare settings, with a strong emphasis on hospital operations, clinical quality, performance improvement, and transformation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or a closely related field.
  • Advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MSN, MBA, or similar) preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPHQ, CIC, Lean/Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale implementation initiatives, including but extending beyond assessments or strategy design.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with physicians, nursing leaders, and executive teams to drive change and adoption of evidence-based practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of hospital operations, EMR systems, quality metrics, and performance scorecards.
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams focused on patient outcomes, quality, and operational performance.
  • Excellent executive communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
