Job Description
Senior engineer leading power systems studies for Orbital’s heavy industrial and utilities projects. Delivering analyses, reports, quality reviews, and technical oversight remotely across the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Review client requests for proposals and scopes of work
- Act as Orbital representative at bid walkdowns
- Prepare manhour estimates and proposals
- Lead electrical power systems analysis projects
- Perform site walks for data collection to support analyses
- Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protective device coordination studies in SKM/ETAP
- Produce reports detailing findings from analyses
- Coordinate with project design/engineering teams to implement analysis findings
- Review reports and analyses produced by other team members as a QC resource
- Support regional business development initiatives, including capability discussions with existing and new clients
- Mentor junior engineers and staff
- Provide technical support and oversight for heavy industrial electrical projects across the US
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Ten (10) years of prior professional experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- Ability to obtain certification in other states preferred
- Exposure to Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical, and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries
- Proficiency in SKM and ETAP
- Experience leading project teams or engineering teams
- Demonstrated engineering and design competency
- Preferably consulting-environment experience
- Experience with heavy industrial engineering projects
