Job Description
Senior Presales System Engineer designing HPE networking solutions for Italian service providers. Driving technical sales, customer presentations, RFP responses, and demonstrations across networking, automation, and virtualization.
Responsibilities:
- Drive technical sales activities for selected Tier 2 Service Provider customers in Italy
- Understand customer requirements and propose HPE products and solutions addressing business needs
- Showcase HPE technologies through technical sales presentations, whiteboarding sessions, customer technology events, product demonstrations, evaluations, and proof of concepts
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer technical decision-makers and partners
- Lead technical responses for RFP/RFQ opportunities and build bills of materials
- Capture customer and industry requirements and trends for business units
- Stay current on industry, competitive solutions, products, and services
- Lead discussions on virtualization and automation through presentations and demonstrations
- Collaborate with SE peers, Account Managers, and other organizational teams
Requirements:
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in Sales/Presales
- Fluent in English
- Strong experience working with Service Provider networks in a technical/pre-sales, Sales/Systems Engineer, or Network Architecture role
- Expert knowledge of routing technologies and protocols, including MPLS and SR
- Experience in areas such as automation, Cloud/Data Center, security, and network virtualization
- Knowledge or strong interest in network automation and network virtualization
- Knowledge of automation using Python, Ansible, Netconf YANG, JSON, or OpenConfig is desirable
- Knowledge in Service Provider security is a plus
- Understanding of Service Provider market trends and emerging use cases
- Knowledge of HPE products and solutions is desirable
- Knowledge of HPE competitors’ products and services
- Strong written, oral, and communication/presentation skills
- Ability to explain highly technical concepts to varied technical audiences
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated team player able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Industry certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CISSP, or CCIE are beneficial
