Job Description
Senior Product Development Manager advancing personal property insurance products for PURE, a member-owned property and casualty insurer. Leading innovation, pricing collaboration, partnerships and cross-functional product delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product development for assigned personal Property insurance products
- Lead teams in connecting PURE’s vision and strategies with department initiatives through a product development lens
- Ideate, design and implement new or enhanced products with complex product features
- Iterate long-term product roadmaps, including updates to pricing, contracts, selection and other product features
- Manage strategic partnerships to offer a more robust suite of products
- Conduct internal and external research on emerging trends, member needs and competitor offerings
- Drive collaboration with Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Sales and other stakeholders
- Partner with Technology to define system requirements and deliver high-quality product builds, features and tools
- Improve member and broker experiences across product touchpoints and processes
- Collaborate with Actuarial Pricing, Data & Analytics, and State Product Management on models informing pricing and risk selection
- Identify and support external data sources that add value to products
- Develop and manage analysts who report directly to the role, if applicable
- Mentor managers and analysts across Product teams
- Serve as a subject matter expert on committees, external panels, forums and rate hearings
Requirements:
- 10+ years relevant work experience in P&C insurance product management required, with demonstrated increased responsibilities over time
- High net worth personal lines insurance experience preferred, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in an analytical field such as Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics or Risk Management
- Deep knowledge of the P&C insurance industry, competitors, insurance product pricing, financial drivers of profitability, legislation and insurance regulation
- Extensive understanding of product, underwriting and distribution and how each impacts the other
- Ability to analyze data and dashboards to draw useful insights and develop strategies and recommendations
- Superior critical and analytical thinking, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and ability to make and influence data-based decisions
- Experience leading teams and important initiatives through a consultative leadership style and growth mindset
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, ability to engage and inspire various audiences, and executive presence
