Job Description

Senior Product Manager unifying benefits integrations, payroll data, and compliance infrastructure for Remote’s global employment platform. Owning strategy, partner integrations, and cross-functional delivery worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the roadmap for integrations with carriers, third-party administrators, benefits platforms, and customers’ HR systems
  • Shift fragmented benefits tooling toward one administration platform, cost-ingestion pipeline, and consistent experience across Employer of Record, global payroll, and PEO
  • Break strategy into roadmaps aligned with engineering, operations, and leadership priorities
  • Lead migrations of benefit costs onto unified payroll systems
  • Stand up retirement plan administration
  • Build provider-agnostic cost ingestion and bring-your-own-broker capabilities
  • Ensure benefits data from customers’ HR systems lands correctly in payroll
  • Own test planning, end-to-end validation, and go-live readiness
  • Activate new countries and partners through requirements, integration, carrier onboarding, and rollout
  • Enable sales and implementation on benefits processing using AI tools and code-connected agents
  • Drive consistent benefits behavior across products and employment models
  • Develop proactive compliance monitoring
  • Identify and close gaps requiring manual benefits-data reconciliation
  • Resolve benefit-cost data incidents through root-cause analysis, remediation, and durable fixes
  • Build discrepancy reporting, unmapped-cost alerts, and reconciliation infrastructure
  • Own the benefits-partner lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, integration, monitoring, and offboarding
  • Partner with Partnerships on commercial terms and represent Product as technical subject-matter expert
  • Evangelize roadmap and process changes across Product, Engineering, Payroll Operations, Finance, and Partnerships
  • Report to the Director of Product, Payroll

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a product manager owning complex third-party integrations (API and file/EDI-based)
  • Provider-agnostic mindset focused on customers’ existing brokers, carriers, and HRIS systems
  • Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code is required
  • Ability to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code/prototypes
  • Ability to design for systems and humans, including APIs and agent-facing tooling
  • Ability to make strategic and tactical product decisions under deadline pressure
  • Excellent asynchronous written communication
  • Bonus: experience negotiating or managing commercial partnerships
  • Bonus: experience in benefits, HR technology, payroll, insurance technology, or fintech
  • Nice to have: technical fluency with data-mapping specifications, sync and reconciliation logic, idempotency, settlement thresholds, and migration sequencing
