Job Description
Senior Proposal Specialist developing competitive infrastructure proposals for GFT, a transportation and engineering firm. Leading proposal writing, compliance, capture planning, interviews, and client-management support.
Responsibilities:
- Manage proposals and presentations, provide capture support, and assist with client management support.
- Lead one complex proposal concurrently with smaller proposals.
- Lead sections for complex proposals.
- Organize and coordinate interview teams to prepare content.
- Compile and distribute meeting notes, action items, and review comments.
- Analyze SOQ and RFP requirements and prepare compliance matrices, outlines, and schedules.
- Organize and coordinate proposal resources, including project management, technical teams, subconsultants, and graphics/print teams.
- Ensure assignment completion, work review, adherence to best practices, and quality-control objectives.
- Provide strategic writing and editing support for qualifications, executive summaries, win themes, resumes, project descriptions, summary paragraphs, action captions, and benefit statements.
- Enter and track opportunities and proposals in CRM.
- Support sales interview teams by scheduling and facilitating kickoffs and rehearsals and preparing presentation materials.
- Facilitate capture-plan support for short- to medium-length capture phases and simple pursuits.
- Liaise with MARCOM staff during capture planning.
- Keep CRM documentation updated.
- Coordinate client-management team activities for Tier 2 clients.
- Participate in or coordinate Tier 1 client-management activities.
- Coordinate with MARCOM to define support needs.
- Provide research, scheduling, and information-organization support to Tier 1 clients.
- Format and edit client-management plans according to company templates and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience preparing proposals for capital public works projects and California government agencies as a prime contractor, including Caltrans, Metro, and BART.
- Normally a 4-year degree in English, marketing, journalism, communications, or an applicable field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of combined prior proposal experience is required.
- Experience in the AEC industry leading, coordinating, planning, and developing architectural-engineering-construction proposals and qualifications.
- Section writing experience.
- Demonstrated progressively increasing responsibility during at least the past 1 year.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with some degree of independence to execute the proposal lifecycle.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Ability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
