Job Description

Reliability Engineer bei ALTEN, einem globalen Entwicklungsdienstleister für Ingenieur- und IT-Lösungen. Entwicklung, Analyse und Optimierung zuverlässiger High-Tech-Systeme in Oberkochen.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Reliability Systems Engineering and technical risk management for complex systems and components
  • Develop and implement Design-to-Reliability concepts
  • Perform reliability analyses and calculate failure rates, failure probabilities and lifetime predictions
  • Apply Weibull analyses, Weibayes methods, Monte Carlo simulations and S–N (Wöhler) curves
  • Create and evaluate FMEA/FMECA analyses
  • Analyze damage mechanisms, degradation effects and corrosion processes as part of Physics-of-Failure investigations
  • Assess the reliability of materials and electronic components and assemblies
  • Coordinate reliability activities with internal specialist departments, international customers and suppliers
  • Support interdisciplinary teams in root‑cause analyses of customer complaints and field failures
  • Further develop reliability models and derive optimization measures
  • Work with IEC standards and industry-related reliability standards
  • Use Python, MATLAB or Excel/VBA for modeling and data analysis

Requirements:

  • Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering or technical development of complex systems
  • Solid knowledge of reliability engineering, statistical methods and technical risk management
  • Proficiency in FMEA/FMECA, Root Cause Analysis and other methods for risk and failure analysis
  • Experience with Weibull distributions, Weibayes methods, shape parameters and probabilistic reliability models
  • Knowledge of S–N (Wöhler) curves, lifetime calculations and reliability demonstrations
  • Familiarity with failure mechanisms of mechanical, electrical and electronic components
  • Experience in assessing corrosion, material fatigue and aging processes
  • Ideally experience with Monte Carlo simulations as well as the development and refinement of reliability models
  • Confident user of Python, MATLAB or Excel/VBA
  • Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
  • Analytical thinking, structured working style and strong communication and teamwork skills
