Job Description

Senior Software Engineer building AWS serverless accounting integrations for ServiceTrade’s field service management platform. Designing APIs and event-driven workflows while mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development, testing, and maintenance of scalable codebases for complex accounting integrations and other products as necessary
  • Design scalable integration architectures using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
  • Design robust REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/token flows, and event-driven AWS serverless workflows
  • Build workflows using Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions to sync data with external accounting platforms
  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve critical system issues
  • Implement preventative measures to guarantee accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior engineers
  • Establish comprehensive code and process documentation for team collaboration and knowledge transfer
  • Manage daily workload effectively across multiple priorities
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve accuracy, performance, and reliability

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
  • Comfortable working within mixed modern and legacy codebases
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, SQS/DLQs, S3, DynamoDB, and Step Functions
  • Proficiency in designing robust Webhooks, REST APIs, OAuth/token flows, and handling retries/idempotency
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and event-driven systems
  • Practical experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)
  • Judgment to review, test, and own AI-assisted development output
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges with a focus on performance and scalability
  • Residence in one of the listed states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, or Washington
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
