Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building scalable backend systems for financial-market applications. Developing APIs, cloud infrastructure, AI features, and fullstack solutions with Node.js and AWS.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js
- Develop and maintain secure RESTful APIs and integrations
- Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions for scalable systems
- Design data models, queries, and storage solutions using relational or NoSQL databases
- Deploy, manage, and maintain cloud-based applications using AWS or similar platforms
- Develop and integrate AI-powered features
- Contribute to frontend development using React and Next.js when required
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders
- Own features and services throughout the lifecycle from concept and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve backend performance, resilience, and observability
- Write secure, maintainable, and testable code, participate in code reviews, and improve engineering practices
- Communicate technical solutions, progress, risks, and challenges to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, RESTful APIs, and modern backend architecture
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modelling, query optimisation, and performance considerations
- Experience deploying and managing applications in AWS or similar cloud environments
- Strong understanding of system design, distributed applications, API security, application performance, testing, monitoring, and fault tolerance
- Experience with React and Next.js, with the ability to contribute across the full stack when needed
- Experience integrating AI technologies into software products or using AI tools to improve engineering productivity is highly valued
- Previous experience within Forex trading, financial technology, payment systems, or trading platforms is considered a strong advantage
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritise work, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality solutions in an agile environment
