Job Description

Senior Software Engineer building scalable healthcare technology systems at Vynca. Leading event-driven architectures, real-time data pipelines, cloud modernization, and healthcare data integrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and lead scalable, high-performance systems using event-driven and distributed architectures.
  • Champion best practices in system design, code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of mission-critical products from concept through deployment.
  • Design and implement real-time data pipelines and event-streaming/ETL flows processing millions of records per second.
  • Build batch and streaming hybrid architectures using Kafka Streams, Flink, and Spark Streaming.
  • Integrate, transform, and serve healthcare data standards at scale, including FHIR, CCDA, HL7 V2/V3, and DICOM.
  • Build resilient, API-driven microservices and customer-facing applications with robust versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Optimize API latency, error rates, and infrastructure through caching, refactoring, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Design fault-tolerant, cloud-native AWS and Kubernetes solutions focused on resilience, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Lead legacy modernization, data lake, and data warehouse implementation efforts.
  • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Drive R&D initiatives involving AI/ML integration and real-time analytics.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and align cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across key projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and Java, with modern frameworks such as Flask/FastAPI and Spring Boot.
  • Mastery of event-driven architectures, distributed systems, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience building scalable real-time data pipelines using Kafka, Flink, and Airflow.
  • Experience with hybrid batch/stream systems.
  • Hands-on experience integrating healthcare data standards including FHIR, CCDA, HL7 V2/V3, and DICOM.
  • Database design using SQL, NoSQL, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with data warehousing using Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Demonstrated success optimizing latency and error rates and reducing AWS infrastructure costs.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and drive consensus.
  • Applicants must reside and perform work in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Utah, or Washington.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be available during Pacific Standard Time business hours.
