Job Description
Senior Statistician advancing HEOR and HTA evidence for Lumanity’s life-sciences clients. Leading Bayesian, survival and indirect-treatment analyses for reimbursement and publication.
Responsibilities:
- Lead statistical input and provide expert guidance to projects
- Develop statistical analysis plans
- Perform and report statistical analyses as standalone research or for health economic models
- Provide analyses for clients, governing/reimbursement bodies and publications
- Conduct survival analyses, including parametric survival analyses and treatment-switching/cross-over adjustments
- Perform indirect treatment comparisons, network meta-analyses, population-adjusted indirect comparisons and time-varying indirect treatment comparisons
- Analyze clinical trial data, observational data and real-world evidence
- Provide statistical input into reimbursement submissions to health technology agencies
- Collaborate with the Statistics team, wider Research team and HEOR Consulting team
- Interact professionally with clients and external stakeholders
- Provide strategic input and oversight of statistical content on projects
- Collaborate with internal and external subject-matter experts
- Perform programming, writing, quality control, mentoring, training and line management
- Contribute to research and development opportunities
Requirements:
- A postgraduate qualification (MSc, PhD) in a statistical/mathematical topic
- Multiple years of professional experience planning, performing and reporting statistical analyses within a HEOR consultancy, HTA agency, biostatistics or contract research organization (CRO) environment
- Experience with Bayesian methods and techniques such as MCMC or HMC using JAGS, OpenBUGS or Stan, including the capability to adapt existing models
- Experience in health research with one or more of: hierarchical models; population-adjustment methods; time-varying network-meta-analysis methods; long-term survival extrapolation; treatment-switching adjustment; joint synthesis of related endpoints and surrogate endpoint relationships
- Ability to translate complex statistical methods into practical solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical clients
- Excellent numerical and critical thinking ability
- Excellent programming skills
- Experience with intermediate/advanced R programming, including building packages, version control and Shiny
- Ability to support, maintain and expand the scientific reputation of the business and contribute to new methods/process development
- Experience with mentoring and/or line management of staff
- Understanding of managing projects within timelines, budget and scope
