Job Description

Senior Storage Engineer managing Dell storage platforms for IT managed services clients. Leading migrations, replication, incident response, automation, and multi-client infrastructure operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and tune Dell PowerFlex, PowerStore, PowerScale, and PowerVault platforms across multiple client environments
  • Own configuration baselines, capacity, and platform health
  • Diagnose and resolve storage performance issues using IOPS, throughput, latency, queue depth, and controller utilization data
  • Manage storage networking, including Fibre Channel zoning, iSCSI or NVMe-oF configuration, multipathing, VLANs, and MTU
  • Manage array firmware and OS upgrades, controller and drive replacements, and Dell support cases
  • Plan and execute storage migrations and array-based replication with minimal workload disruption
  • Serve as technical lead during storage-impacting incidents
  • Review capacity, performance, and health reports and address risks proactively
  • Automate provisioning, reporting, and health checks using scripting and array APIs
  • Write root cause analyses, execute structured change management, and maintain storage documentation
  • Provide client status reporting, capacity guidance, and best-practice recommendations
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with virtualization, data protection, and network teams

Requirements:

  • 12+ years in infrastructure engineering
  • At least 3 years focused on VDI or end-user computing platforms, with platform ownership experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Hands-on ownership of at least one Dell platform at depth: PowerFlex, PowerStore, PowerScale, or PowerVault, including provisioning, upgrades, performance tuning, and support case management
  • Working knowledge of block, file, and object storage beneath VMware vSphere and Windows or Linux hosts
  • Hands-on storage networking experience across Fibre Channel and IP-based protocols, including iSCSI, NFS, SMB, NVMe over TCP, and multipathing
  • Experience planning and executing storage migrations and configuring array-based replication
  • Automation ability using AI tooling, scripting such as PowerShell or Python, and array APIs
  • Experience writing formal root cause analyses and working within structured change management
  • Clear client-facing communication and ability to work independently across multiple client environments
  • Prior MSP or other multi-client experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Dell Technologies or comparable enterprise storage certifications preferred
  • Experience with PowerProtect Data Domain, Veeam, and Dell VxRail preferred
  • Experience with another enterprise array vendor and compliance environments such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, or TPN preferred
