Job Description
Supplier Development Engineer improving harness and electronic-component suppliers for Shield AI’s autonomous defense systems. Enhancing quality, delivery, scalability, and supplier onboarding.
Responsibilities:
- Join Shield AI as a Supplier Development Engineer focused on harness assemblies and electronic components
- Enhance supplier performance by solving challenges affecting quality, on-time delivery, and scaling
- Support onboarding suppliers to new designs
- Lead supplier development activities within aerospace supply chain management
- Deliver affordable and autonomous mass at scale
Requirements:
- A degree in electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience leading new-product industrialization and project management across engineering teams and contract manufacturers
- Strong working knowledge of wire harness and FPC/FFC assembly processes, including design rules for reliable production
- Practical experience with PPAP and structured problem-solving tools, including RCCA, fishbone analysis, process mapping, and 5S
- Direct experience improving supplier or contract-manufacturer quality, process capability, capacity, or production execution
- Ability to travel internationally up to 50% to engage suppliers
- Offers contingent on a cleared background and possible reference check
