Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical lead on complex projects, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Lead technical discussions with demanding stakeholders, align expectations, and convert ambiguity into clear, actionable next steps.
  • Anticipate organizational and delivery risks and address them early through structured communication in complex, high-pressure customer environments.
  • Manage complex, critical systems, apply updates, and resolve incidents to maintain operational stability.
  • Plan and implement sophisticated multi-cloud, hybrid, or on-premises platforms.
  • Provide comprehensive support, handle high-priority issues, and assist junior and senior team members in critical situations.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken German.
  • Five to eight years of experience as a system engineer in cloud environments.
  • Strong DevOps background: CNCF and HashiCorp ecosystems, GitLab, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, DevSecOps, IaC, and GitOps.
  • Broad experience in software development, cloud migration, and platform engineering.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to translate advanced concepts into practical network designs.
  • Ability to identify security vulnerabilities early and address them effectively.
  • Expertise in improving automation and developing new automations to enhance operations.
  • Sound understanding of how to align technology, architecture, and business requirements in complex customer environments.
  • Ability to understand client needs, navigate demanding stakeholder situations with clarity and tact, and build strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Proactive identification of risks and dependencies, with the ability to address them early and create clarity in complex situations.
  • You thrive on challenges and seek solutions where others see problems.
  • Quality matters to you, and you take full responsibility for your work.
  • Hands-on approach: you support others in critical moments and keep the right stakeholders aligned.

Benefits:

  • Strong commitment to Open Source.
  • We keep things transparent and accessible, support collaboration, and actively promote the community — it’s part of who we are.
  • Full-time or part-time, on-site or remote: choose the work mode that fits you.
  • Flexible time off: planning a trip? Let us know in advance and we’ll generally accommodate it.
  • Choose your tools and environment: Emacs, Nano, or Vim? Arch, Manjaro, or another distro? Use whatever enables your best system engineering performance.
  • No Microsoft products, though.
  • Positioned between a small tech shop and a large corporation: we combine a down-to-earth culture with solid business processes and fast decision-making.
  • Growth mindset: whether you want to develop skills, earn certifications, or attend conferences, we support your development.
