Job Description

Senior Systems Engineer supporting Extreme Networks’ enterprise networking solution sales across ANZ. Designing, demonstrating, and validating wired, wireless, SD-WAN, and cloud-managed architectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to support regional revenue goals
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations explaining solution benefits and design principles
  • Lead discovery sessions, solution design, and technical validation for wireless LAN, campus and edge switching, SD-WAN, data center network fabrics, cloud-managed networking platforms, SaaS applications, network access control, and analytics platforms
  • Participate in technical assessments, demos, proof-of-concept deployments, and architectural workshops
  • Troubleshoot complex customer environments and provide technical input during escalations
  • Use protocol knowledge and traffic analysis to resolve issues and optimize network designs
  • Use basic scripting such as Python or Shell to support automation or testing tasks
  • Liaise between customers and product/engineering teams to communicate feedback and ensure solution alignment
  • Support enterprise networking solution sales across the ANZ region

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years’ experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting in the networking industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in enterprise networking environments
  • In-depth knowledge of MLAG, LACP, IGMP, PIM, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, VRRP, SPBM, and VXLAN
  • Knowledge of authentication mechanisms and access policies, including 802.1X and RADIUS
  • Hands-on experience with network simulation, testing tools, and packet capture analysis
  • Familiarity with wired, wireless, SD-WAN, network management platforms, and open networking concepts
  • Understanding of cloud-managed networking platforms and integration with security and automation workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Customer-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative approach with internal teams and external partners
  • Networking, wireless, access control, cloud, or AI certifications are strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Ansible or Python scripting is advantageous
  • Vendor-specific certifications are preferred but not required
