Job Description

Senior Tax Associate delivering virtual tax strategy and advisory for Facet’s holistic financial planning members. Diagnosing returns and modeling tax-optimized wealth decisions without tax return preparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead 10–15 virtual tax strategy sessions per week
  • Deliver tailored tax advice and guide members through high-stakes financial decisions
  • Answer inbound member questions via secure messaging about withholdings, life events, IRS notices, and tax projections
  • Review Form 1040s and schedules to diagnose multi-year tax optimization opportunities
  • Build, model, and present customized tax strategies using modern planning tools
  • Focus on bracket management, withholding adjustments, and estimated tax schedules
  • Research complex federal and multi-state tax scenarios
  • Architect compliant, creative strategies across diverse household profiles
  • Collaborate with Lead Planners and the Director of Specialized Advice
  • Integrate tax optimization into holistic financial plans
  • Advise on Roth conversions, real estate and rental assets, charitable giving, small business/entity structuring, and equity compensation
  • Provide forward-looking planning and member advisory without preparing tax returns or compliance filings

Requirements:

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • 5–7+ years of professional experience specializing in personal tax planning, private client tax advisory, high-net-worth tax consulting, or wealth management
  • Demonstrated history of managing a regular client meeting cadence, such as 10–15 client consultations weekly
  • Exceptional empathy, active listening, and strong presentation skills over video
  • Expert ability to analyze Form 1040s and supporting schedules rapidly
  • Strong expertise in individual federal and state tax codes
  • Knowledge of pass-through entities, retirement distribution strategies, and executive compensation planning
  • Uncompromising integrity and dedication to delivering objective, member-first advice
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation or active pursuit preferred
  • Prior advisory experience within a fee-only RIA, multi-family office, or wealth management firm alongside CFP® professionals preferred
  • High proficiency with Holistiplan, BNA, Corvee, and CRM/digital workflow tools preferred
