Job Description

Cardiovascular field specialist promoting Bristol Myers Squibb medicines to Manhattan healthcare providers. Delivering scientific engagement, territory planning, and compliant demand generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive demand for BMS medicines within the cardiovascular portfolio for appropriate patients
  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within the defined territory or region while meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets compliantly
  • Articulate the clinical and scientific rationale for products in appropriate patients
  • Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans
  • Use SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans dynamically
  • Provide leadership feedback on tool experience for continuous improvement
  • Present approved scientific resources and publications to HCPs with medical accuracy
  • Conduct in-office presentations such as lunch and learns
  • Discuss product-related scientific information consistent with label
  • Organize external speaker programs and manage approved speaker scheduling and logistics
  • Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
  • Use Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
  • Collaborate with other field teams to deliver a strong Customer Experience for HCPs
  • Gather and share relevant customer insights internally
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and BMS policies
  • Build and maintain credibility with regional thought leaders, community-based physicians, medical groups, office staff, and patient-care stakeholders
  • Travel extensively in the field to visit external customers and attend meetings as directed

Requirements:

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians
  • Experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network
  • Experience in cardiovascular preferred
  • Strong account management skills
  • Superior selling competencies
  • Proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
  • Strong selling and promotional skills proven through a track record of performance
  • Customer/commercial mindset and ability to drive business results
  • Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating credibility with customers across the patient care journey
  • Demonstrated account management skills and problem-solving mentality
  • Understanding of the patient journey and ability to customize engagement and deliver tailored messages
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for scientific and clinical data
  • Strong learning mindset and passion for science
  • Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences, clinical data, and BMS product data
  • Ability to segment HCPs based on preferences and relevant factors
  • Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
  • Understanding and effective use of healthcare business technology
  • Competency using CE^3 and CRM/software tools to manage compliant data and track interactions
  • Ability to use Medical on Call technology effectively
  • Strong business acumen
  • High level of integrity and good judgment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must hold a driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence
  • Must meet the Company's acceptable driving risk level and Qualified Driver requirements
