Job Description

Senior Software Architect at Blanc Labs leading design and development of cloud-native applications. Solving complex technical challenges and modernizing legacy systems into microservices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and evolve scalable software architectures for enterprise applications
  • Lead the modernization of legacy monolithic systems into cloud-native microservices using patterns such as Strangler Fig, Change Data Capture (CDC), and event-driven architectures
  • Develop production-ready software using Java (Spring Boot), Laravel (PHP), and React
  • Design RESTful APIs and asynchronous integrations using Kafka and Amazon SQS
  • Define service boundaries, data ownership, and communication strategies across distributed systems
  • Architect and implement cloud solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency
  • Participate actively in coding, design reviews, and technical implementation
  • Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices across development teams
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term improvements
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment strategies, monitoring, and operational excellence
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Drive continuous improvements in architecture, development processes, and system observability

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Professional experience developing applications with Laravel (PHP) and React
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices
  • Extensive experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native applications
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns, including Microservices, Modular Monoliths, Strangler Fig, CDC, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and RESTful APIs
  • Experience implementing asynchronous communication using Kafka and/or Amazon SQS
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB
  • Experience with Debezium or other CDC technologies
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns (GoF) and architectural best practices
  • Experience with AWS services, including ECS, EC2, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Systems Manager Parameter Store
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
