Job Description
Software Developer enhancing our EMR platform at Ava Industries. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to Agile development practices.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to design, develop, and maintain features for our EMR platform built with Ruby on Rails.
- Contribute to improving and maintaining our automated testing infrastructure, helping ensure stability, performance, and code quality across the platform.
- Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, contributing ideas and solutions.
- Write and maintain clear technical documentation to support ongoing development and knowledge sharing.
- Help identify opportunities to improve system performance, developer workflows, and overall product quality.
- Report to the Development Team Lead
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience developing general web applications.
- At least 5 years experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles, testing practices, and version control (Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to share knowledge with teammates.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Nice to Have: Experience working with EMR, healthcare software, or regulated environments.
- Experience with full stack Ruby on Rails (including turbo + hotwire).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (OpenTofu/Terraform, AWS).
- Experience improving automated testing frameworks (rspec, playwright).
- Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks or front-end technologies.
- Team lead/leadership experience is an asset.
