Job Description

Software Engineer building Golang microservices and React/TypeScript applications for FXC Intelligence’s cross-border payments data platform. Improving data services, observability and customer-facing financial analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, maintain and enhance Golang microservices and frontend applications
  • Deliver performant, componentised interfaces using the design system
  • Improve the performance and observability of services and applications
  • Improve team and business quality of life through automation, process improvement or new technologies
  • Continuously and reliably collect large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments
  • Process and verify the quality of financial data and serve it to users
  • Interact with stakeholders across the business and the immediate technical team
  • Report to the Lead Software Engineer

Requirements:

  • Experience writing Golang services and web application backends
  • Experience deploying services in Docker containers
  • Experience building componentised application frontends in React/TypeScript
  • Ability to write performant SQL
  • Understanding of clean code principles and TypeScript and Go idioms
  • Ability to review code and establish team quality standards
  • Ability to learn and engage with a new business domain and product
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to peers
  • Ability to discuss learning and skills improvement
  • Experience with concurrent logic applications, such as goroutines, is helpful but not essential
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitLab CI, is helpful but not essential
  • Experience configuring and using observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana is helpful but not essential
  • Experience utilising AI to increase productivity and efficiency and productionised AI tools is helpful but not essential
  • Experience with MaterialUI, Airflow, Python or Terraform is helpful but not essential
  • Candidates must refrain from using AI tools during interviews or technical tasks unless explicitly instructed
