Job Description

Software Engineer II building cloud infrastructure for Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics platform. Operating Kubernetes, networking, security, and streaming primitives used across engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Terraform
  • Operate and evolve multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters (EKS), including node lifecycle, upgrades, security contexts, and networking decisions
  • Own the operational side of the migration from managed Kafka (MSK) to WarpStream
  • Build and maintain tooling for streaming infrastructure
  • Contribute to platform tooling and reconcilers using Go and the Kubernetes API
  • Build self-service infrastructure primitives for engineering teams
  • Design and maintain networking and security infrastructure, including transit gateways, GCP interconnect, ingress, security groups, IAM policies, and IRSA
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to infrastructure incidents
  • Write and improve runbooks and automate recurring incident patterns
  • Report to the Senior Manager of Platform Engineering

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, EKS, IAM, S3, and VPC
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes in production
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code; Terraform strongly preferred, with Pulumi or CloudFormation acceptable
  • Proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, or shell scripting; Go preferred
  • Comfort with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Argo, or Jenkins
  • Hands-on experience with on-call and incident response
  • Experience building Kubernetes operators or controllers is beneficial
  • Familiarity with Kafka, WarpStream, or similar event-driven systems is beneficial
  • Networking expertise is beneficial, including VPCs, transit gateways, ingress controllers, DNS, load balancing, and security groups
  • Experience with SOC 2, ISO-27001, or similar compliance frameworks is beneficial
  • Familiarity with GitOps patterns such as ArgoCD or Flux is beneficial
