Job Description

Software Engineer building Salmon’s internal HR database and automation workflows. Developing Retool applications, PostgreSQL structures, and integrations for a Southeast Asian fintech company.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and own Salmon's Frontline Employees Database for HR and operational processes supporting around 4,000 frontline employees
  • Develop Frontline DB capabilities covering employee and candidate profiles, access and account data, time-off information, shift planning, and selected operational results
  • Deliver initiatives across development, integrations, data mapping, documentation, and process improvement
  • Own solutions end to end by understanding business needs, clarifying requirements, proposing practical approaches, and delivering working MVPs
  • Collaborate directly with HR, Operations, People Partners, and Support
  • Extend integrations with HiBob, Ashby, and other internal systems
  • Design, build, and maintain automation and integration workflows in n8n
  • Develop and improve PostgreSQL data structures for custom internal solutions
  • Build internal applications, forms, and user interfaces in Retool
  • Integrate HR and enterprise systems through REST APIs, webhooks, Python, and/or JavaScript
  • Test, troubleshoot, document, and maintain solutions
  • Handle internal support requests for existing tools and workflows, approximately 20% of the role
  • Grow MVP solutions into reliable internal products as processes and needs evolve

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with n8n, Make, or another low-code automation platform
  • Confident SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Ability to query, validate, and interpret data independently
  • Experience with Retool or another platform for building internal applications and forms
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript for scripting and automation
  • Understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and common integration patterns
  • Basic grasp of testing, debugging, and error handling
  • Proactive working style and ability to make reasonable technical decisions independently
  • Good English for working with international stakeholders
