Job Description

Software Engineer developing automated tests for Sophos cybersecurity products. Building test suites for firewall management, reporting, and licensing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product quality for Central Management and Reporting
  • Design, develop, and maintain test strategies and test plans
  • Develop test automation suites and system testbeds for Central Management and Reporting features
  • Enhance existing test suites to improve quality
  • Develop test scripts for faster feedback, automated quality processes, and quicker product deliveries
  • Participate as part of the feature team
  • Understand Scrum and agile methodologies and follow Scrum best practices
  • Understand system architecture and standards and use them to generate quality test plans
  • Understand how customers use products
  • Create comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Create and maintain manual network test setups
  • Research third-party tools to improve testing effectiveness
  • Report test-failure defects and drive them to closure
  • Troubleshoot developed code and identify issues
  • Create and identify product/project test strategies
  • Develop automation scripts and maintain reports of automation issues and test results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements and automation feature requests
  • Maintain and debug test setups and scripts
  • Continuously develop, test, release, upgrade, maintain, automate, and test Sophos firewall management, reporting, and licensing product lines

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge or working experience in test automation development using Java, Selenium UI Automation with TestNG Framework, or Python
  • Solid knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering concepts
  • Experience in manual and automation testing
  • Working experience with cloud products
  • Basic knowledge of AWS cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of IPSec, SD-WAN, and firewall policies is an added advantage
  • Minimum qualification: B.Tech, BE, M.Tech, MCA, or MSc (IT)
  • Understanding of Scrum and agile methodologies
  • Ability to understand system architecture and standards
  • Experience with AI tools and technology and applying them to functional, non-functional, and test automation activities
  • Ability to prioritize, focus, and drive tasks to completion
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Jira, TestRail, GitHub, and Jenkins
