Job Description
Software Engineering Intern building TypeScript and Haskell fintech products at Mercury. Contributing to frontend, backend, or full-stack features serving over 300,000 businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Receive mentorship from experienced engineers
- Write TypeScript and/or Haskell code
- Contribute to Mercury’s product serving over 300,000 businesses
- Join an engineering team aligned with goals and interests
- Backend: collaborate with data analysts to specify and build customer-acquisition features
- Backend: provide services for mobile and web frontends, including transaction search and wire transfers
- Backend: build admin tools for support operations, including fraud identification and account management
- Backend: integrate third-party APIs for checks and SWIFT-code validation
- Frontend: develop and improve the financial technology application and user interface
- Frontend: use TypeScript static typing to prevent errors
- Frontend: build features in an established TypeScript codebase and optimize performance
- Frontend: collaborate with designers and contribute product ideas
- Full-stack: perform a combination of the described frontend and backend work
Requirements:
- Enrolled in an academic program (undergraduate, graduate, etc.)
- Backend: experience using Haskell or a strong desire to learn it; familiarity with SQL
- Frontend: experience with TypeScript; React experience is a plus

- Interest in continually honing craft
- Curiosity and willingness to share perspective
