Job Description

Software Packaging Engineer building and validating Windows and macOS packages for PDQ’s device-management products. Troubleshooting package failures and improving packaging tools and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Build new packages and update existing packages in PDQ’s package library
  • Use existing tools and processes to add and update packages
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex package bugs and failures
  • Collaborate with packaging team members to improve processes and tools
  • Address packaging needs across Windows and macOS
  • Test and validate packages before they ship to customers
  • Answer packaging questions from the solutions team and other PDQ Package Library stakeholders
  • Provide packaging input to Product and Development on upcoming initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role such as desktop support engineering or system administration
  • Preferably have worked in a highly regulated industry like government, healthcare, or finance and understand the necessity of following policy and procedure
  • Exceptional attention to detail, dedication to quality, and a drive to completion while performing a single task for an extended period
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to figure things out independently and share learnings with the team
  • Ability to work effectively without close supervision
  • Some QA experience; extensive QA experience is extra credit
  • Experience with PDQ products such as Deploy, Inventory, Connect, SimpleMDM, and SmartDeploy
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate, PowerShell, Linear, Zendesk, Office 365, VMware, Slack, Notion, Beyond Compare, Discord, and Zoom
  • Must reside in one of PDQ’s open states: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin
  • The majority of PDQ’s full-time roles do not qualify for employment visa sponsorship; candidates requiring future H-1B sponsorship are not eligible for sponsorship
