Job Description
Sourcing Associate originating niche vertical software acquisitions for a stealth AI holding company. Building founder relationships, qualifying targets, and quarterbacking deals through signed LOIs.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of 2,000+ target companies across the buy box, mapped by vertical, ARR, ownership structure, and readiness-to-sell signals
- Conduct 100+ meaningful founder touches per week via cold email, LinkedIn, phone, handwritten notes, and in-person visits
- Build multi-year trust relationships with software founders across 25+ niche verticals
- Attend 8–12 industry-specific trade shows per year
- Qualify targets against the buy box
- Quarterback deals from first call to signed LOI, including financial pre-diligence, valuation triangulation, and LOI drafting support with the M&A lead
- Convert the company's audience of 50K+ founders and operators into founder conversations
Requirements:
- 2-5 years in deal sourcing / origination at a private equity firm, holding company, or search fund
- Experience conducting cold outbound at scale
- Financial literacy: ability to read a P&L, calculate SDE/EBITDA add-backs, and sanity-check a 4x multiple
- High-trust operator capable of handling founders' personal financial information
- Read every Constellation Software president's letter, or do so by Week 2
- Nice to have: domain experience in target verticals or a prior small software exit
