Job Description
Staff AI Security Engineer securing Addepar’s global investment data and AI platform. Leading AI security architecture, guardrails, governance, automation, and organization-wide security initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Keep up with AI security trends, models, and innovations and advise on appropriate architectures
- Work with Engineering and Application Security teams to secure AI use across the platform
- Partner with Architecture to securely enable internal AI productivity initiatives
- Advise or implement AI guardrails and controls to minimize data-loss risks and prevent insecure or unapproved AI use
- Guide and mentor Security teams on leveraging AI for security benefits
- Maintain AI governance documentation and guidance and address employee questions and concerns
- Lead complex, project-driven security enhancements across infrastructure, applications, and the corporate environment
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to architect, build, and deploy scalable, resilient security solutions
- Build tools, guardrails, and automated workflows that enable secure software delivery
- Identify security-posture gaps, design remediation plans, and execute them to maturity
- Serve as a security advisor across engineering, product, and R&D teams
- Mentor junior and mid-level Information Security & Risk engineers
Requirements:
- 9+ years of dedicated experience in security engineering, application security, infrastructure security, data security, or cloud security
- Proven ability to turn ambiguous security problems into structured project plans and execute them to completion
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Curiosity, continuous learning, and deep interest in Information Security
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Deep expertise in AI, including AWS services, LLMs, MCP, agentic agents, frameworks, governance and regulations, attacks, guardrails, and costs
- Amazon Web Services experience, especially AWS security services
- Strong experience with authentication and authorization protocols and securing non-human identities
- AI-based certification such as AAISM, AAIA, or CAISP is nice to have
- Knowledge of NIST AI Framework or EU Artificial Intelligence Act is nice to have
- Knowledge of MITRE ATLAS or OWASP Top 10 for LLMs is nice to have
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Security is nice to have
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship and authorized to begin work in the U.S. on the first day
