Job Description

Staff Data Systems Architect designing MyFitnessPal’s product data stack. Governing architecture, integrations, compliance, access, and vendor strategy for a health and fitness platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end systems design of the MyFitnessPal product data stack
  • Develop, drive, and maintain the systems architecture roadmap for the product data stack
  • Serve as the primary Data Platform contact for the consolidated data stack
  • Coordinate contributions from Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product Analytics, and backend engineering teams
  • Define and enforce data movement and standardization discipline across the stack
  • Lead architecture reviews for new tool decisions and vet vendors against the existing stack
  • Surface tool duplication and collaborate on proof-of-value evaluations
  • Contribute to compliance architecture for user data, including PII tagging and deletion/DSR policies
  • Administer access and licensing across the data stack
  • Maintain a unified view of spend and access
  • Document and evangelize architecture decisions, standards, and ownership models across the organization

Requirements:

  • 8–12+ years in systems design, architecture, or engineering roles
  • 3–5 years designing end-to-end data platform architecture at the architect/staff level
  • Experience architecting integrations of a modern customer data stack, including product analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing activation tools
  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and role-based access design
  • Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations
  • Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including PII handling and deletion/DSR workflows across multiple destinations
  • Experience defining architecture standards adopted across a team or organization and enforcing them through automation
  • Cost-conscious ownership of infrastructure and vendor spend
  • Proven ability to drive architecture decisions across teams and organizations
  • Experience with tools such as Amplitude, Eppo, Harness, AppsFlyer, and Braze
  • Preferred: experience with semantic and metrics layers via dbt or similar tooling
  • Preferred: experience with data cataloging/governance tools and metadata stewardship programs
  • Preferred: experience in high-velocity experimentation organizations
  • Preferred: advanced SQL knowledge and experience
  • Preferred: experience in consumer-facing subscription app environments
  • Preferred: experience making governed data safely available to AI assistants and agents
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, as indicated by the Remote - US location and MyFitnessPal's E-Verify participation
