Job Description

Staff Frontend Engineer owning consistent flag-management surfaces for LaunchDarkly’s developer platform. Building design-system foundations, enterprise UI workflows, and agent-assisted product experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the consistency and quality of core flag surfaces across teams, including shared interaction direction and review of team implementations.
  • Set the product agenda from customer evidence, personas, support, sales, and usage signals.
  • Own LaunchPad, LaunchDarkly’s design system, including components, tokens, patterns, adoption, migrations, lint enforcement, and adoption measurement.
  • Track upstream library and platform capabilities and translate them into product improvements.
  • Build shared interaction primitives for tables, filtering, sorting, comparison, and bulk changes, then migrate the product onto them.
  • Prototype and implement interaction patterns for hybrid human-and-agent workflows.
  • Serve as the first line of defense for frontend performance on high-traffic enterprise surfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Product, Enterprise Feature Management, and Foundation Feature Management teams.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise.
  • Experience owning a surface or system across multiple teams without directly managing them.
  • Strong TypeScript and React skills.
  • Ability to work across the frontend/API boundary; LaunchDarkly’s backend uses Go.
  • Experience owning a genuinely adopted design system, including migration and enforcement.
  • Strong product and UX judgment and ability to trace workflows end to end.
  • Track record of cross-team influence without authority.
  • Strong judgment about prioritizing high-leverage work.
  • Experience with data-dense enterprise product UIs, including large collections, filtering, permissions, environments, bulk operations, and performance at customer scale.
  • Production experience with LLM tool use, MCP, or agent frameworks, plus a perspective on agent-driven product design.
  • Excellent written communication.

Benefits:

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Mental health benefits
