Job Description
Staff Product Designer owning agent experiences across CLI, APIs, SDKs, documentation, and dashboard surfaces. Designing Render’s developer cloud platform for reliable AI-native application deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Own Agent Experience end to end across programmatic interfaces and the human-agent interaction loop
- Design a coherent interaction model and error language across the CLI, API, MCP, SDKs, Blueprints, and Skills
- Design documentation, Blueprints, Skills, and reference material as agent-facing products
- Create a configuration-first onboarding path using Blueprints for one-motion deployment
- Design dashboard review, supervision, activity, and visibility surfaces for agent-driven work
- Design agent authentication, consent, access scoping, token management, and revocation experiences
- Define a unified model for applications, services, and environments across dashboard and programmatic surfaces
- Surface agent-operable paths through prompts, CLI installation, and post-error tooling suggestions
- Set design direction for the Agent Experience program and influence product, engineering, and leadership
Requirements:
- 7+ years of product design experience
- Ideally experience with developer tools, infrastructure, APIs, or technical products
- End-to-end ownership of a major surface or product area and ability to set direction
- Strong craft across GUI and non-GUI surfaces, including web UI, CLI messages, API ergonomics, SDKs, MCP, and documentation
- Portfolio showing coherent end-to-end experiences across interface boundaries
- Genuine point of view on AI-native products and agent-facing design
- Ability to read code, prototype with code, and collaborate closely with engineers
- Judgment to define quality without an established playbook and rigor to maintain it
- Clear, direct communication and ability to influence technical and non-technical partners
- Nice to have: experience with CLI, SDK, API, or MCP surfaces used at scale
- Nice to have: agent-facing documentation, Blueprints, Skills, OAuth, scoped tokens, least-privilege access models, coding agents, LLM tooling, design engineering, or enterprise product evolution
