Job Description
Staff Security Automation Engineer building log pipelines, SIEM detections, endpoint controls, and security automation. Beyond Finance helps Americans escape crippling debt through individualized financial solutions and supportive technology.
Responsibilities:
- Build and own security log pipelines, including collection, transformation, enrichment, and delivery into the SIEM
- Operate and improve the SIEM by onboarding sources and building and tuning detections and alerts
- Deploy and tune security controls across managed macOS and Windows workstations and AWS WorkSpaces virtual desktops
- Build internal tooling and automation to reduce manual triage and remediation work and add team capabilities, primarily using Python
- Integrate security tooling through APIs and write connective code across the security stack
- Establish secure Infrastructure as Code defaults through reusable modules and policy as code
- Build security into CI/CD through scanning, secrets detection, and policy-as-code gates
- Own the reliability and coverage of security pipelines and tooling as a platform
- Make safe changes directly in systems owned by other teams and take them through review
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on security engineering focused on automation, tooling, and instrumentation
- Ability to write custom code and scripts, primarily in Python, to build tooling and log pipelines from scratch
- Hands-on experience building and operating end-to-end log pipelines: collection, parsing, enrichment, and SIEM delivery
- Hands-on SIEM experience onboarding sources and building or tuning detections and alerts
- Experience deploying and managing endpoint security across mixed macOS and Windows fleets, including virtual desktops
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience; Terraform required
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and integrating security checks
- Working knowledge of a major cloud provider, ideally AWS
- Ability to operate independently and drive projects without day-to-day oversight
