Job Description
Staff Software Engineer building Inovalon’s ScriptMed pharmacy cloud platform. Designing scalable .NET, SQL, Angular, and Kubernetes-based healthcare systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver resilient, secure, scalable distributed microservices-based systems
- Contribute to the ScriptMed Cloud Platform across the full stack, including .NET, SQL, LINQ optimization, and Angular development
- Build, maintain, and evolve microservices hosted on Google Cloud Platform and Azure using Kubernetes
- Create observability dashboards, configure alerting, and support proactive platform health using Datadog, Grafana, ELK Stack, and the transition toward Dynatrace
- Provide technical leadership on scale, resiliency, security, service reliability, and sustainability
- Design and scope modules and features independently, breaking complex work into executable tasks
- Influence architecture, design, standards, and technology adoption
- Develop metrics, drive automation, improve performance, and increase operational efficiency
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across Inovalon and mentor onboarding team members
- Handle PHI and PII data in accordance with compliance and sensitivity standards
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical issues outside standard business hours
- Follow confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and company policies
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience with a strong foundation in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and high-throughput platforms
- Proficiency in C# and .NET required
- Hands-on SQL experience required, including LINQ query development and optimization
- Full-stack experience with JavaScript and Angular alongside .NET backend work
- Experience deploying and managing microservices on Google Cloud Platform and/or Azure using Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Datadog, Grafana, ELK Stack (Logstash), or comparable observability platforms; experience building dashboards and configuring alerting
- Experience designing and scoping discrete modules and features, breaking complex requirements into manageable, well-defined tasks
- Understanding of PHI and PII data handling requirements in a regulated healthcare environment
- Experience with or strong familiarity using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude
- Strong architectural and system design judgment
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology required
