Job Description
Staff Software Engineer building distributed file storage, access-control, and integration systems. Developing AI-powered file workflows for Addepar’s global investment data platform.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and maintain backend services for file storage, permission synchronization, and third-party integrations at enterprise scale
- Design and build event-driven systems for real-time permission propagation across Addepar’s financial graph and external storage providers
- Meet compliance revocation SLAs
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, security, and compliance partners on sensitive data access-control projects
- Contribute to migration efforts such as FileVault to Box, webhook consolidation, and folder structure evolution
- Ensure zero-downtime production rollouts
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Build AI-powered capabilities for intelligent file processing, automated metadata extraction, and content-aware workflows
- Evaluate emerging third-party file platform capabilities
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
- Experience with server-side languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Experience with relational databases including MySQL, Postgres, or SQL Server
- Ability to complete complex projects involving partners across multiple teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship
- Must be authorized to begin work in the U.S. on the first day of employment
