Job Description
Staff Software Engineer shaping mobile and backend quality at InPost, Europe’s out-of-home parcel delivery platform. Defining reliability strategy, engineering standards, and responsible AI workflows across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Set and own the quality and reliability strategy across the mobile app and backend domain
- Design quality gates within release and store-deployment pipelines
- Ensure coverage across devices and OS versions and control flakiness at scale using BrowserStack and GitLab CI
- Strengthen the backend/API/contract layer and connect it cleanly to native iOS and Android clients
- Drive resolution of cross-team quality and reliability issues
- Contribute hands-on through prototypes, tooling, reference implementations, and incident resolution
- Shift quality ownership left into the engineering workflow
- Mentor senior engineers and accelerate their growth
- Run tech talks, workshops, reusable documentation, and pair sessions; co-lead the OneTech community
- Co-shape the domain's technical direction with the SEM, with autonomy within the domain
- Analyze quality trends and define quality/reliability metrics and gates
- Frame technical risk in business terms for EMs, SEMs, and PMs
- Define AI adoption for quality and engineering productivity, including tools and workflows
- Design AI-assisted workflows and establish governance and data-security standards
- Assess and manage AI usage risks, including production-facing work
- Mentor engineers on responsible AI use and report on its ROI
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Track record operating at Staff / Principal / Tech Lead / Architect level, with proven impact beyond a single team
- Proven experience in testing in at least one mobile platform (iOS or Android) using market standard approaches
- Commercial, working-level experience testing native mobile apps
- Deep ownership of quality and reliability as an engineering discipline
- Experience setting standards and designing testing/quality strategy
- Proven shift-left experience, entering the process before code is written and measurably moving the result
- Strong hands-on engineering foundation; ability to read, review, and write production-quality code
- Experience leading technical and process change directly with development teams
- Hands-on experience using AI and assessing its risks
- Fluent English
- Experience with BrowserStack and CI/CD (GitLab) strongly preferred
- Snapshot testing experience (e.g. swift-snapshot-testing, Paparazzi) and introducing mock-based testing standards strongly preferred
- Experience in logistics or e-commerce strongly preferred
- Fluency in Polish strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Appium nice to have
- Experience applying AI in engineering/testing workflows nice to have
- ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineer certification nice to have
