Job Description
System Safety Engineer ensuring vehicle variants meet safety regulations and standards. Collaborating on documentation, verification, and validation processes in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities:
- verify that vehicle variants in customer-specific projects comply with applicable product safety guidelines, regulations and standards
- prepare evidence/documentation demonstrating compliance with product safety obligations
- analyze and assess safety-relevant requirements and activities from the tender/offer phase onward
- identify applicable laws, standards, guidelines and regulations
- advise projects and define safety objectives
- create safety compliance documentation for projects
- coordinate safety-related verification and validation (V&V) activities
- conduct system safety-related reviews, audits and assessments (internal and external)
- monitor implementation and compliance with safety-related requirements
- further develop internal safety-related processes, templates and checklists
- perform final assessment of compliance with product safety obligations and report to the product safety officer
Requirements:
- degree in a technical discipline (TU/FH) or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering or automotive engineering
- solid professional experience in System Safety, preferably in the automotive sector
- strong knowledge of safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 26262)
- methodological competence (hazard and risk analyses, FMEA, FTA)
- strong understanding of requirements management
- experience with IBM DOORS and APIS Pro
- good understanding of product development processes
- systematic knowledge of project planning and project management
