Job Description

Systems Engineer I maintaining USACS healthcare systems, servers, security, and infrastructure remotely. Supporting technology projects, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support systems within the organization
  • Work with other Engineers and departments on technology maintenance and projects
  • Install, monitor, and manage operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Ensure high levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions
  • Maintain backups, security, and redundancy strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and technical issues
  • Manage server and application components during maintenance periods
  • Update firmware and required device profiles
  • Engage in quality control procedures
  • Maintain and support a high-availability environment according to company standards
  • Collaborate with the security team to analyze and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Assist in testing and implementing IT infrastructure
  • Coordinate with vendors and IT personnel to resolve problems
  • Participate in team projects and meet deliverables
  • Maintain documentation for company systems and applications
  • Provide efficient and accurate service while meeting deadlines
  • Report project status, activities, and achievements to supervisors and team members
  • Participate in responses to critical system issues during and after business hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University preferred and a minimum of 2 or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Core technologies include Windows 10 OS, MS Server 2012/2019, VMWare vSphere and Horizon View management
  • Experience managing Active Directory Users and Computers, Group Policy Objects, groups and nested groups
  • Familiarity with software licensing and hardware support
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting, including DNS, TCP/IP, VLANS, NetBIOS, switching/routing, and fiber channel
  • Experience with basic O365 fundamentals and administration
  • Knowledge and experience with basic scripting such as MS-DOS batch files and PowerShell
  • Any knowledge related to Mobile Device Management a plus
  • Experience in troubleshooting and customer support for complex technical issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize requests and projects based on impact and urgency
  • Highly organized with good follow-up skills
  • Ability to deal professionally with sensitive and confidential matters and materials
  • Customer service oriented
  • Team player able to gain the trust and support of team members and drive cross-functional solutions
  • Certification is a plus (VCP5+, CCA, MCSE, MCITP, NCDA, NCSA)
  • Required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform the job
