Job Description

Tax Director leading global ASC 740 provision, US compliance, audits, and international tax for 8x8’s customer communications platform. Managing outsourced providers and tax professionals remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Own quarterly and annual global tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred taxes, ETR, uncertain tax positions, return-to-provision true-ups, and income tax disclosures for 10-Q and 10-K filings
  • Manage outsourced providers for US federal and state income tax compliance, including extensions and estimated payments
  • Prepare and review tax data packages, workpapers, and returns
  • Manage US federal, state, and local tax audits and support audits in foreign jurisdictions
  • Assist with global tax planning, especially across EMEA and APAC
  • Assist with global tax reporting by coordinating with outsourced providers or local Accounting teams
  • Support the Company's M&A initiatives
  • Support US international tax matters flowing through the provision and return, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, withholding, and Pillar Two readiness
  • Maintain SOX 404 controls over income tax and keep workpapers audit-ready
  • Serve as a primary contact for external auditors on tax
  • Drive process improvement and automation across provision and compliance workflows, including ERP tax data sourcing
  • Manage, coach, and develop 1–2 tax professionals

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of corporate income tax experience
  • Substantial experience owning a global ASC 740 provision at a multinational company
  • Hands-on US federal and state tax compliance experience, including managing outsourced preparers
  • US international tax experience, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credits
  • Direct experience supporting or leading income tax examinations
  • Public company reporting experience with strong SOX documentation practices
  • Ability to take ownership and drive issues to resolution without direction
  • Ability to collaborate across accounting, legal, treasury, FP&A, and the business, as well as with external advisors and auditors
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • CPA and/or master's degree in taxation preferred
  • Big-4 experience preferred
  • Tax provision software and major ERP experience, including NetSuite, preferred
  • EMEA tax experience preferred
  • US telecommunications tax experience, including FUSF, E911, regulatory surcharges, and state and local telecom taxes, preferred
