Job Description

Technical Lead guiding full-stack engineering, cloud infrastructure, and security for Koniag Government Services’ USDA environmental review modernization platform. Leading federal IT development and technical delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical approach for backend APIs, frontend applications, and cloud infrastructure
  • Ensure code meets PWS quality standards, including 90% test coverage, zero linting errors, and zero medium/high security vulnerabilities
  • Oversee integration with USDA mission systems via well-defined APIs
  • Guide technology decisions using approved tools such as Python, Ruby, JavaScript, and React on cloud.gov infrastructure
  • Ensure systems comply with Zero Trust Architecture (NIST SP 800-207), FIPS 140-2 encryption, and OWASP security standards
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and CircleCI
  • Support system documentation, hand-off planning, and contract transition requirements
  • Ensure API response times meet performance standards, including CatEx triage under one second
  • Collaborate daily with the Product Owner, Facilitator, and design team
  • Support a federal client on a business and IT modernization project for the USDA ERAS Platform

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience
  • At least 3 years in a technical lead or senior engineering role
  • Experience leading development teams on federal government IT projects
  • Strong software engineering background with full-stack experience
  • Experience with cloud-hosted federal systems; cloud.gov preferred
  • Knowledge of agile development practices
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and federal security standards
  • Experience with microservices architecture and API development
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-native application development and deployment
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies on large-scale software projects
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional, or equivalent federal cloud certifications are a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce development is a plus
