Job Description
Technical Services Specialist supporting Balchem’s animal nutrition sales force and customers across the Upper Midwest. Delivering technical training, product support, research coordination, and competitive intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Support the ANH Ruminant sales force technically in selling Balchem ANH products to customers in the USA and internationally
- Interface with R&D and assist with research into existing and new product applications where necessary
- Represent and uphold the scientific integrity of Balchem products in professional peer interactions
- Prepare and deliver training materials and programs for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide technical support for product sales and position products effectively using practical nutrition knowledge
- Help deliver business unit sales and profitability goals
- Prepare and present technical product presentations to varied audiences
- Contribute articles on pertinent product-centric topics to scientific and lay press
- Develop advocates and communicate with the technical community
- Coordinate R&D efforts with local and regional universities as directed
- Gather competitive intelligence and support its strategic use by the commercial organization
- Assist Area Market Representatives with key account planning and strategies
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including PPE and equipment safeguards
Requirements:
- Ph.D. or D.V.M. with 5+ years post-graduate experience; or M.S. with 10+ years of field experience
- Broad practical nutrition knowledge
- Ability to provide technical support for product sales
- Ability to prepare and present technical product presentations to feed company representatives and industry professionals
- Ability to contribute written articles to the scientific and lay press
- Ability to prepare and present training materials on products and applications
- Ability to contribute to competitive intelligence gathering and strategic utilization of this knowledge
- Ability to assist with key account planning and strategies
- Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures, including use of PPE and equipment safeguards
